I had added a squirt of honey, instead of milk, wow, that was great!

Hello, I am back. I got to thinking these "snacks can not be doing me any good". Well, I was wrong, and those snacks were doing me a world of good. What I love about this group is everyone is so "upbeat". Even if weight loss is slow, it is painless and , most important, IT IS LOSS!!!!!!

[color=green]Hi Bonnie,
So glad you're here!
I guess the title of this topic is appropriate
for in a way we are all starting each and every new day.
Meg is our great encourager, even through the valleys.
And I love when our more experienced members pop their
heads in once in a while to let us know we can finish the race!
It sure is easier to be on a "diet" when you feel good!
Best wishes to you.

Dear Megbel,
No matter how much weight you have to lose, you can still stay in phase I for a long time just cutting out the snacks you don't need or reducing portions if you're not hungry for them or if the scale is not going down - we can discuss that as you continue on the diet and have questions.

I was reading a previous post saying that you drink tons of crystal light.  Given the recent study showing that there may be an association between sugar substitutes and obesity, could I suggest that you cut out crystal light for a week and see what happens to your mood, energy levels, and rate of weight loss. Many people say they go through a real withdrawal after cutting it out but stick with it.  Others say they feel low energy and quite depressed when they use a lot of artificial sweeteners.  There has never been a good study proving the latter associations, it's just hearsay I suppose, but you may be negatively sensitive to the stuff and it might be worth trying.

just a thought.

I think there may be a lot to that point,
I've only been drinking water since I started
and coffee (1/2 decaf) in the morning with splenda.
Anything sweet I have is real sugar...
I know you've mentioned "triggers" Meg.
I'm also making sure I don't choose too many
sweet snacks in a row..... if that helps.

I am also a Splenda user, but I use only two packets a day with my morning tea.  After that I drink about a 1/2 c. of diet soda with my dinner - the rest is water diluted with about 1/8 c. of regular sweetened iced tea - I cannot do plain water - in makes my belly hurt.

hi there-

i mostly use stevia. but sometimes i have 2  glasses of crystal light in a day. so never tons these days. not for a month at least.

i actually came on to say that although i certainly think SPD is a wonderful plan. the loss and the feeling has not been AMAZING for me. i just seem to binge out on the carbs, etc.

my issues are not just depression but more eating disorder/bulimia. i have been working with my wonderful dr. on balancing my hormones, which are very out of whack.

we have decided together, that i will embark on a new plan based on blood results and a food plan that balances serotonin, promotes HGH, and keeps insulin stable. you can PM for more info. i do not want to take away from SPD or promote others diets on this site. i think nina and judy are SUPERSTARS.

thanks for all your support-
best of luck to all,
megbel

:'(  Awww.....sorry to see you go, but you have to do what's best for you, and that's what we all want for you too!  I suppose no eating plan will work until you have resolved all pre-existing mindsets - and that can be a tough hurdle in itself - I know, been there, and still battle my thoughts on a daily basis.  Good Luck, girlie!  Pop in and say hi once in awhile!
