Hi.

I'm just about to start the diet and wondered what to class quinoa as?
I thought it would be a carb but heard it was a good source of protein too so wondered which of the two you would class it under?

My apologies for taking so long to reply to this  - it somehow slipped through the cracks and I didn't see it!

Yes, Quinoa is higher in protein than some other grains, but it still has more carb than protein so it counts as a carb.  Many foods are naturally made up of a combination of carbs, proteins, and fats - even broccoli has protein! - so your question is a good one.  Some foods, like beans and yogurt, are tricky because they contain significant amounts of both carbs and protein.
