I am not supposed to weigh-in til Tuesday, but I weighed this morning, and I was down another 1.5 pounds - for a total of 5.5 so far.

Something good must be happening when we're
"tempted" to get on the scale ahead of time!

I have a very unexpected woo hoo for today!
It's my second week of work and I've been
going through my closet trying to find things
to wear -- you may know, through the "fat clothes."
And I did this crazy thing and tried on one of my
favorite suits:  but it's a size 12, and I've been a
size 16 for 5 years.......... AND WOO HOO it fit

Thanks, Meg.  I am now down 8 pounds, but I have had an awful week filled with binge-eating.  This happens once a month to me, and I really need to try to find an alternative.  I seem to always excuse myself for this week, despite how disgustingly awful I feel every time.  I am thinking it is more of a setback for me, because that is a whole week that I have to recover from.  Anyway, the scale is moving in the right direction, and I can't wait for these binges to end for the month!

I think I've written this elsewhere, but for those times of the month, you can modify your eating in the following way:
Eat all of your protein at breakfast with fruit and carb.  From then on, have only minimal protein the rest of the day.
Have up to three snacks and feel free to choose sweet ones if you have cravings for sweets.
Then have dinner for lunch and dinner, choosing wholesome, preferably whole grain carbs for those meals to keep you full.
This way, you may be consuming more calories than other days of the program, but you're avoiding binges by really loading your brain with serotonin.
Oh, and buy yourself flowers every day - why not treat yourself and your home in that way?

That's great advice, Nina!  Thank you so much!  I had never read that anywhere on the posts before, and it is very useful information - especially since those days are approaching very soon here!  I decided it wasn't going to be a "free week" of hogging out for me - as I have always done in the past.  I have always given myself permission to do so, and this time I have decided to find an alternative plan - this may very well be the trick!  Thanks so much!

[color=green]Thank you Nina!  You are so sweet!  It's obvious a few
of us definitely "change our moods" and diets during those
times of the month (or times of the life!)....  I was really
hoping I could find some way to adjust during that time, so
I will give this a try.  Thanks again.

I hadn't checked the site for awhile, so am catching up on everyone's standings..........way to go!!!  What an inspiration you are to get in all that exercise!!!  If I don't do it first thing in the morning, I just am not fitting it in my day.  I'm glad tomorrow is Monday....when it's easy to find things to grumble about (the end of the weekend, etc.), I at least look forward to a renewed dieting attitude and getting back on track.  Happy Monday to everyone.........

Thanks for asking Ann....
Well, at the moment I've come home from work because
this back pain was burning and making me sick to my stomach
so I guess it's not going to just go away (sigh)
I'm only up 1 lb. now since being off schedule & everything else,
and that's encouraging to me.  I know I'm learning more than
just weighing, calories, no-no items, etc.... but am making
better choices even if I'm "off diet" for a short time (if that makes sense).
Hope y'all are doing well.  It's hard to type sideways.... so bye!

A big woo-hoo for actually looking forward to a doctor's checkup!
I couldn't wait to get on the scale and see it down 10 lbs. (I think it's more!)
Everyone in that office heard about SPD today!  The nurse who checked me
in was amazed (and she struggles with losing weight)...
and I was so happy to tell my doctor good news for a change!  She really
saw the difference in me since I last saw her.  My depression is really gone,
I'm losing weight and feel so terrific.  We're gonna stick with the diet and the celexa.
Just wanna share it with everybody!

I'm so glad you have so many reasons to celebrate!  You're doing great!  We really appreciate all of your enthusiasm for the diet (and we're even more thrilled to know you're reaping the rewards of sticking to the plan) - thanks for sharing your great experiences!

GO GIRL!!!!!!  That's awesome to read the enthusiasm!  Several teachers at school have commented on my weight loss, and it certainly helps to keep me motivated to know that I am not just imagining my weight loss!  I still have days where I could eat an entire refrigerator, but they are not nearly as many, and I am trying a new approach to that as well!
