Hi, and welcome.

To be clear, we do not claim that our diet will replace the need for antidepressants of any sort.  That is a decision between you and your doctor.

However, if you are going to be on meds for life, our diet has the ability to help you lose weight and control it long term, make you more energetic mentally, take away food cravings, improve your sleep and make you less fatigued, and balance your mood.  Many people have experienced these benefits.

I encourage you to try it and keep us posted here - we an offer support to make it work as well as possible for you.

All my best,
Nina

Well, it's kinda strange writing to serotonin ... I think in many ways all of us would like to chat with it! (wink)...... but to the person serotonin, I'd say "what do you have to lose?"  Commit yourself to reading it, questioning it, practicing it and I really don't think you'll be disappointed.
In my case I was in the deeprest depression I've experienced in a long journal recovery from divorce and some trauma in my life.  I found the book quite by accident by googling "serotonin."
I picked it up at the library and it made sense to me.  I'm a carboholic.  I feel miserable if I don't have carbs, but I also need discipline and balance.  I felt better in three days!  I lost 16 lbs.  I can say now that I definitely feel that I am out of my depression (though I still take a low dosage of celexa and still must take something for insomnia, probably from menopause).
I KNOW this diet brought me out of a pit and enabled me to be able to go out and find and secure the best job I've ever had.  And now I want to share it with the senior citizens I work with and finish losing the weight toward my goal.  Hope you will give it your best commitment and not be disappointed.
Best wishes.
Lillie

What a beautiful thing to write, Lillie - you truly know how to give to yourself and to others as so many others do on this forum - keep it up, all of you!
